Mailing list rules

  1. The PKES mailing list is intended for announcements (rather than discussions) of academic events, jobs, and research in economics, political economy, and economic policy. These may include calls for papers/participation in conferences and workshops, job postings, PhD positions, scholarships, invitations to submit to special issues of academic journals, announcements of books, journal articles and working papers, and blog posts that draw attention to academic research such as recently published books, journal articles, or working papers. Announcements may also include petitions or open letters that aim for academic signatures. By contrast, non-academic blog posts, op-eds, and other self-published materials that do not announce academic research as outlined above should not be posted.
  2. PKES aims to maintain moderate traffic on the list.
  3. We kindly request that any contributor to the mailing list carefully considers whether their post is appropriate.
  4. We encourage members to continue any discussion of content outside the list.
  5. We reserve the right to regulate access to the mailing list on these grounds, while also upholding the principles set out in our Code of Conduct on Diversity and Inclusion.
  6. Members who repeatedly breach these guidelines will lose posting privileges. Initial breaches will result in a warning or suspension of three months. Further breaches can lead to suspension of up to one year or permanent removal of posting rights.
